Orestes Macchione is the head of sales for HVDC and grid access solutions at Siemens Energy in the United States, a role he has held for over a decade. He previously led HVDC and FACTS capture teams across the UK, Europe, Asia, and South America.

Orestes is an IEEE senior member and has contributed to multiple working groups. He also chaired the committee on HVDC and FACTS techno-economic choices and is a frequent speaker at industry events, conferences, and utility forums focused on energy transmission.
